Annual Subscriptions 2019

(20 Jan 2019)

Dear Member,

Your Annual Subscription for 2019 falls due on 1 February 2019. In most cases this will be completed by e-mail.

Annual Subscription & Bar and Restaurant Prepayment

Following advice from our local Crime Prevention Officer, may we kindly request that Annual Subscription payments are made online by EFT (electronic fund transfer) by as many members as can do so.  Otherwise payment should be made by cheque, debit or credit card so that we avoid cash payments wherever possible. The Club’s bank account details will be found on your invoice.  Please use your Name and GUI/ILGU number as your payment reference when paying online.

Bag and Trolley Charges

The charge for the Bag Room is €65 and the charge for the Trolley facility is €100 for a single use space or €75 each where two trolleys are stored.

The 2018 AGM passed a motion that all playing members must take out Golf Insurance to cover themselves against liability from their golfing activities. In this connection the ‘AON’ product has been added to your invoice and applies to all membership categories including Cadet and Juvenile. Details of this extensive cover is available on the club’s website.

May we also remind Members of changes made to the rules relating to payment of annual subscriptions that were agreed at the 2007 Annual General Meeting:

‘A member whose subscription or other amounts due for the current year remains unpaid on 1 March, shall be ineligible to compete in any competitions or where applicable, to vote at any meeting of the Club so long as such subscriptions or amount due remains unpaid.’

‘If the subscription or amount due is not paid by 1 April the person shall cease to be a member or associate, as appropriate, of the Club.   The Management Committee of the Club shall have power to make special arrangements in exceptional circumstances.’

If a member pays their subscription charge prior to or on the 28 February 2019 they will receive a complimentary Three Ball Voucher, valid until 31 December 2019  (subject to conditions). If a subscription remains unpaid by 1 April 2018, it will be subject to a late charge of €100.

Premium Credit

The Management Committee are once again happy to recommend a loan facility to Members through Premium Credit Limited in order to pay their Annual Subscription.  This facility, called Fairway Credit, enables the cost of the annual ‘Golf Membership’, including subscription, levies and insurance to be spread over a period of 10 months at very competitive rates.

Please note that this is a paperless scheme and members can only sign up for the scheme by coming in personally to the main office, where applications will be completed online.  Please allow sufficient time for this process and we ask that you visit the Office during off-peak hours i.e. 9.30 – 10.30a.m. and 4 – 5pm. Those members who signed up to Fairway Credit last year will be able to renew automatically with just a simple signature.

New Applications to join Fairway Credit must be completed no later than Friday, 8 February 2019.  Fairway Credit currently offers a credit facility through Premium Credit Limited in over a hundred Golf Clubs across Ireland and the United Kingdom. Photographic Identification must accompany the application, requiring a copy of your Driver’s License or Passport.   In addition a copy of a recent Utilities Bill is needed, plus the IBAN & BIC numbers of your bank account, which may be found on your bank statement. Where payment is being made from a spouse or partner’s bank account it is their details that are required.

Please note that we only credit your Bar and Restaurant levies, once we receive the payment from Premium Credit.

Club House Facilities available for Private Functions

Members may book the Club House for ‘private functions’, such as Birthday Parties, Dinners, Dinner Dances and Weddings. We have a superb facility which sadly remains under-utilised, so when planning such events why not consider Malahide Golf Club. Consideration must be given in the first instance to the golfing calendar but that still leaves plenty of availability.

Similarly, the Restaurant is also available for family occasions such as First Holy Communions, Confirmations, Birthday celebrations, Christenings and traditional Sunday Luncheon.

We hope that you have found the above to be informative and that you will actively support the Club throughout the coming year.  You will certainly be guaranteed a warm welcome. Should you have any further queries please contact me and I will be glad to be of assistance.

On behalf of the Management Committee may I wish you a great golfing season.

Yours sincerely

John Kelly
